Description: Crusado is a relatively new long-day hybrid variety. Crusado can be harvested relatively early, has a tough skin, gives a good yield and boasts a remarkable root system.
When breeding this onion, good storage characteristics, yield, early maturity and a strong root system were most important. Because of its unrivalled root system, Crusado outperforms any other variety in dry conditions. The onion can be stored for several months without any loss of quality. The yellow to brown uniform round-shaped onions should be planted in the spring.
